WHAT IS A LIBRARY?

What is a library is an ongoing project exploring relationships to libraries, and their importance to society.

Growing up, the local library was my refuge. During lockdown, being unable to access this safe space hammered home just how important they can be, and I started seeking the qualities I found in the public library space elsewhere. This thinking has informed two distinct but linked lines of enquiry: Public Libraries, and Personal Libraries.
